The South Australian state authorities is introducing two new parking offences that take purpose on the unlucky behavior of ICEing and EV squatting, in an effort to clean EV integration and entry to charging infrastructure.
Beneath the principles introduced over the Easter weekend, non-electric autos can be prohibited from parking in a delegated electrical car (EV) parking space, an act generally known as ICEing, notably when executed deliberately.
An on-the-spot high-quality of $75 can be handed out to perpetrators.
Equally, EVs parked in a charging space when the car is just not being charged will even incur a high-quality of $111.
Native councils can be putting in signage alongside EV parking and charging bays reminding drivers of the brand new offences.
The 2 new parking offences are being described as a part of the South Australian authorities’s efforts to deal with the rising presence of EVs and to facilitate their clean integration into the state’s highway community.
