USA: Accelera unveils new powertrain for F-series electric trucks

Cummins and Isuzu have been collaborating since 2019 to develop an electrical drive system for Isuzu’s F-Collection vehicles. In October 2022, they commenced buyer trials with prototypes, and so they have since formalized their partnership via a provide settlement. Cummins’ electrical division, Accelera, will present Isuzu with electrical drives for medium-duty electrical vehicles beginning in 2027.

Manufacturing of the electrical truck is ready to start in 2027 at Isuzu’s new manufacturing facility in South Carolina. This announcement follows Isuzu’s substantial investments in electrical vehicles and batteries. In January 2024, Isuzu revealed a deal price roughly €632 million with Thailand-based LG ES geared toward electrifying the Isuzu Elf. The corporate can also be collaborating with Toyota and Hino on bus initiatives, in addition to with Honda to develop a hydrogen Giga Gas Cell truck. Moreover, Isuzu at the moment gives the N-Collection BEV truck, which could be personalized with between 3 and 9 battery packs primarily based on person necessities.
