Geely and SAIC, like BYD, make the most of roll-on/roll-off (roro) ships particularly designed for transporting automobiles. Earlier this 12 months, BYD debuted its fourth roro vessel, the BYD Shenzhen.

Geely’s roro ship, named ‘Geely JISU Fortune,’ launched into its maiden voyage in Might. This vessel measures 199.9 meters in size and 38 meters in width, with a design draught of 8.6 meters and a high pace of 19 knots. It boasts a 12-storey automobile deck able to accommodating as much as 7,000 automobiles. Notably, the eleventh and twelfth decks are devoted to transporting hydrogen and pure gas-fueled new power automobiles. The environmentally-friendly ship, powered by LNG, will function primarily in European markets through the Cape of Good Hope route, together with connections to Brazil and different strategic pathways.

SAIC not too long ago launched its transport ship by its subsidiary, Anji Logistics, marking the thirty fifth addition to its fleet. The corporate claims to function China’s largest self-owned automobile provider fleet, which incorporates 11 river vessels, 9 for home commerce, and 15 for worldwide commerce. By subsequent 12 months, SAIC plans to broaden its ocean-going fleet to 22 ships, enhancing routes to Western Europe, the Mediterranean, Mexico, the west coast of South America, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Center East—key markets for the corporate.
