The Hyundai OBSIDIAN electrical sedan idea, created in collaboration with design college students from the Munich College of Utilized Sciences, embodies a placing fusion of influences, drawing from fashions just like the Honda 0 Saloon and Tesla Cybertruck, whereas echoing aesthetic parts harking back to Paul Verhoeven’s “Complete Recall.”

Although at first look, the OBSIDIAN could appear considerably by-product, its design distinctly positions it as a bolder and extra aggressive different inside its class. The progressive square-segmented LED mild bar displays Hyundai’s evolving model, harking back to options from their 2025 IONIQ 5 and Grandeur sedan ideas. This marks a departure from previous designs that usually felt like much less dynamic renditions of present automobiles.

Since round 2018, Hyundai and Kia have constantly produced standout fashions, and the OBSIDIAN continues this pattern. Its smooth, opaque red-tinted home windows counsel luxurious interiors or a star aiming to evade the highlight.

Whereas there are presently no plans for manufacturing or indications that this student-designed idea will form Hyundai’s future route, firm executives have expressed enthusiasm for the OBSIDIAN’s design.

Dominik Anders, a pupil on the Munich College of Utilized Sciences, led the design of the OBSIDIAN, with appreciable assist from Hyundai. This partnership showcases Hyundai’s dedication to nurturing rising expertise and exploring progressive automotive ideas.
