Charged EVs | Daimler Truck to launch semi-public European charging network
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Daimler Truck is taking vital steps to handle the scarcity of charging factors and capability for heavy industrial automobiles in Europe. Starting within the third quarter of 2025, the corporate plans to permit its TruckCharge prospects to open their charging infrastructure for exterior, paid use.

This initiative goals to introduce a system that facilitates planning, reserving, and reservations for charging, alongside offering further value benefits and streamlined fee choices.

At present, Europe has fewer than 1,000 charging factors devoted to heavy industrial automobiles. Nonetheless, Daimler’s new community is predicted to determine over 3,000 quick charging factors by 2030, positioning it as the most important charging community for these automobiles on the continent. The semi-public community is meant to enhance present European public charging infrastructures, reminiscent of Milence—a collaboration between Daimler Truck, TRATON, and Volvo—which goals to develop 1,700 high-capacity public charging factors by 2027.

Martin Hink, the Head of eMobility Enterprise Options at Mercedes-Benz Vehicles, said, “With our TruckCharge idea, we’re aiming to shut a big hole within the charging infrastructure for vans. On the one hand, the thought is to assist our prospects make their very own charging infrastructure extra worthwhile. However, we wish to supply operators of electrical vans further, engaging choices for charging their automobiles.”

This initiative displays Daimler Truck’s dedication to enhancing the charging ecosystem for heavy-duty electrical automobiles in Europe.
