Indian electrical bus producer Olectra Greentech has secured an order for two,325 electrical bus chassis from BYD, citing the superior security and efficiency of BYD’s Blade battery as a key motive for the partnership. The Blade battery has efficiently endured rigorous testing, together with penetration by a nail, crushing, bending, heating to 300°C (572°F), and overcharging by 260% with none fires or explosions. Throughout India’s Auto Expo 2025 in January, BYD highlighted its collaboration with Olectra Greentech as proof of its energy and management within the public transportation sector. BYD entered the Indian electrical bus market in November 2017 and has since seen its electrical buses cowl over 335 million kilometers.
